What’s it like to stay at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana?

I spent a week in Punta Cana with my best friend, staying at the all-inclusive Iberostar resort. I absolutely loved it there.

Iberostar is a large complex encompassing smaller resorts. We stayed at Coral Level, which felt like a small boutique hotel with exclusive amenities while still providing access to all the resort's restaurants, bars, entertainment, and activities. It was a perfect blend of intimacy and variety.

The drive from PUJ airport to the hotel revealed a highway lined with resorts, which is the main attraction of Punta Cana. Many visitors opt for AirBnBs or smaller hotels, but I believe staying in an all-inclusive resort is ideal since most activities and outings are centered within these complexes.

Iberostar stands out as an excellent choice. Upon arrival, a golf cart transported us to the Coral Level lobby. There, we received a map detailing all the restaurants, bars, pools, spa, and other activities available during our stay.

If you choose to remain within the hotel, you'll find plenty of things to do. The resort features a variety of dining options, including an open-style buffet and numerous international restaurants such as Greek, Japanese, Mexican, French, and American cuisines.

The resort also offers a wide range of daily activities: water sports, fitness classes, yoga, pilates, Spanish lessons, board games, and more. You can download the hotel's mobile application which provides you with all the necessary information in an organized format.

If you feel like exploring beyond the hotel, you definitely can, although Punta Cana is mostly known for its resorts. Renting a car gives you the freedom to see other parts of the beautiful Dominican Republic. We didn’t rent a car ourselves, but we found some great tours using apps like TripAdvisor and Viator. I highly recommend the “Dominican Republic Cultural Tour” and the “Day Trip to Saona Island.” They were fantastic! I’ll share more about these tours in my next article!
