A Cozy Night in Cold Spring, New York
Ever wondered about a sweet little town just two hours away from the hustle and bustle of the city? Meet Cold Spring – a tiny gem with only around 2,000 friendly faces.
Getting there is a breeze; just jump on the Hudson line from Grand Central and hop off at Cold Spring station. Pretty easy right?
For our overnight stay, we picked the Pig Hill Inn, a quiet B&B in the center of town on a historic street. Luck was on our side with fantastic weather on arrival. Eager to soak up the outdoors, we got a cheese and crackers assortment from Cold Spring Cheese and headed to the Cold Spring Pier for a picnic with breathaking views of the river and mountains.
Our adventure continued with a visit to the West Point Foundry Preserve, a mere 10-minute stroll from town, and a short hike at "Little Stony Point" on the other side of town – nature lovers' paradise!
Since it was still early, we decided to sprinkle in some fun activities. A quick visit to Mundane for candle making and the Blue Olive for olive oil tasting turned out to be surprisingly awesome, even for a first-timer like myself!
As the afternoon rolled in, we retreated to the B&B for some snacks and hot tea by the fire. A delightful cocktail at the nearby Barber&Brew added the perfect finishing touch.
Come evening, we went out for a delightful dinner at Le Bouchon, the cutest French Bistro around. Let me tell you, their onion soup and steak frittes are absolutely heavenly. The cozy, red-hued ambiance just added to the charm. Post-dinner, we headed to Doug’s Pretty Good Pub, the only local bar that stays open late.
We started our day the next morning with a 7AM yoga class at Ascend Center + Collective, followed by a delicious breakfast at the Inn – the ideal way to gear up for the day.
Here's a fun fact: all the awesome things we did in just one day were conveniently packed into the same charming street in the heart of Cold Spring, creating memories that will remain with us.
